Roadside Assistance

Q: Does Better World Club have coverage in my area?

YES! Better World Club is connected with a HUGE network of Service Providers in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia and Canada.

We have a highly qualified vendor network and we work with one of the most reliable and trusted networks of service providers in the country. Vendors are carefully screened and selected based on excellence of service and reliability.

Q: How many service providers do you have in my area?

We work with a national network of 35,000 towers and approximately 15,000 other service providers, such as locksmiths. We guarantee to have service providers in your area. If you would like a specific count, please contact us.

Q: Once I call, how long does it take to receive assistance?

The average response time is 30 minutes or less in metropolitan areas and 60 minutes or less in rural areas. Of course, response time will vary according to weather, traffic and location.

Q: What types of vehicles are covered by Better World Club?

We cover you in any vehicle, not just your own. We cover vehicles that are used for personal use. This includes cars, vans and trucks.

Non-covered vehicles include: mobile homes; taxicabs; tractors; trucks over 1 ton rating; RVs and motorhomes; boats; camping, travel or other trailers; public conveyance vehicles on display for sale or any other purpose; vehicles used in competition; or vehicles used for commercial purposes.

Q: How many times may I call for roadside assistance?

Emergency road and tow service for motorized vehicles covers a maximum of 4 breakdowns per year, per member. No further reimbursement will be provided for the remainder of the year if you exceed this limit. (TX - dispatch only)

Note: You may also use our dispatch service after you have used up all your free calls, however it will be treated as a cash call and you will be responsible for paying for the services at the time they are rendered. In most cases, we can obtain a lower rate than if you place the service call yourself.

Q: Do I have to be with my vehicle to get service?

Yes. You MUST be present with the disabled vehicle to receive service. Service providers cannot provide assistance to an unattended vehicle.

Q: What if I call more than my membership allows?

Service will be dispatched to your location, however, it will be treated as a cash call and you will be responsible for all payments that exceed your membership limits.

Q: If I have to pay for any miles over the coverage limit what can I expect to pay?

Basic/Basic PLUS membership includes up to 5 miles of towing at no additional cost. Premium/Premium PLUS membership includes up to 100 miles of towing at no additional cost. Should you require towing beyond your covered limits, the cost is typically between $2-$3 per mile. Note: It has been our experience that these rates can be considerably higher in some metropolitan areas. For instance, in Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego) the cost can be as much as $8-12 per mile.

Q: What happens if I need a service that is not covered?

We will offer to get you service using a pre-negotiated corporate rate. This rate will be made available to you at your expense. This rate is generally 15 to 70 percent lower than the retail rate in your area.

Q: How do I submit a claim?

Notice of claims must be submitted to the Club within 20 days of occurrence and must include information and attachments requested on the claim form. A Claim Form was included in your membership package. Please contact us for more information.

Q: Can I be towed for the same incident more than once?

No. We will not tow you more than once for the same incident. We do not do "secondary tows" from repair facilities.

Q: Are there any limitations as to where I can be towed?

We will tow you to your home or to the nearest service provider. We will not necessarily tow you to the location of your choice (i.e. to your vacation home or to your friend's house.) We do not do "secondary tows" from repair facilities.

You should also note: we do not service vehicles that are already broken down when you join the Club. Motor clubs are like insurance and if people only became members when they needed service, then our prices would have to be much, much higher.

Q: Can I get reimbursed for services?

Yes, you may request reimbursement for services if your car is disabled and cannot be driven safely under its own power. We encourage you to call our emergency roadside assistance dispatch center first, however if you would prefer to obtain assistance on your own, Basic Auto members will be reimbursed up to $50, and Premium Members up to $100 per disablement. (TX - dispatch only)

Q: How many service calls am I entitled to?

Emergency road and tow service covers a maximum of 4 breakdowns per covered member, per year. No further reimbursement will be provided for the remainder of the year if you exceed this limit. (TX - dispatch only)

Q: What is Ambulance Assistance Benefit?

Should you or your enrolled associate member require the need of an ambulance as a result of a vehicle accident, you will be reimbursed up to $50 to offset the cost. You will be reimbursed for ambulance assistance if the accident occurs while you are in your own car, riding in a common carrier such as a bus, train or taxi…or if you’re hit by a vehicle. Commission of a felony, driving without a valid operator’s permit or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or narcotics are excluded. (Not available to resident of Virginia.) Q: What is the Theft Reward Benefit?

Place your important Theft Reward Decal on the left back window near your front door as a warning to any would-be thief and alert passersby. (This reward is not payable to members, their immediate family or law officers.)

Q: What is the Personal Effects Benefit?

If your car is stolen or vandalized, we will reimburse you up to $500 for any personal effects (does not include automobile parts) stolen or damaged. There must be an incident report made to the state or local police. (Not available to residents of CA, MA, TN, TX, and VA.)

Membership

Q: If I'm currently a member of another roadside assistance program, can I join Better World Club?

Absolutely! You can join Better World Club today, even if your old membership has not yet expired. Just pick a start date (any date in the future) on the enrollment form. You can also contact your current Club and ask to be reimbursed for the unused portion of your membership. Make the switch

Q: Whom do I call if I have a complaint?

The local service provider who provided help is responsible for the roadside assistance that you receive and should be your first point of contact. However, we want to know about the incident as we try to maintain a database of the most reliable Service Providers in the business, and, if you remain unsatisfied, we want to act as your advocate in the complaint process. Contact us

Q: After I enroll, how soon does my membership become active?

Your membership will become active three business days after enrollment.

Q: How soon will I receive my membership materials in the mail?

Please allow one week after your account is considered active. Note: If you sign up for a future start date, you will not receive membership materials until after your account has been activated. You can still use our service even if you do not have a membership card. Please refer to your email or mail confirmation for your membership number and the toll free number to call for emergency roadside assistance.

Q: How many membership cards will I receive?

You will receive two cards with your membership materials; one for the primary member and one for the spouse/dependent. If you are enrolled in our "PLUS" program and if you have more than two covered persons in your family, simply photocopy your membership card or write down your membership number and the toll free number for roadside assistance. If you would like us to issue an additional card for your son/daughter or dependent, contact us.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

If you are not completely satisfied with your membership, please let us know immediately. You may cancel your membership within 30 days from the date of application and receive a full refund. To do so, write “I wish to cancel” on your Service Contract, sign and date it, and return all materials provided in the membership package to the Club including your membership card(s). If you want to cancel after 30 days, follow the same procedure and you will receive a pro rata refund of the unused portion of the membership fee without any deduction. Upon termination of membership for whatever reason, all membership benefits will terminate. Termination of your membership will automatically terminate all covered drivers under your membership number. This may include all benefits under this membership for your spouse, domestic partner and dependent children.

Cancellation by the Club: In order to maintain fair and reasonable membership dues for all members, the Club reviews all unusual frequency of claims on the basis of average member claims. Use of service which the Club considers excessive may result in limitation of the number of claims allowed, non renewal or cancellation of membership. If membership is ever cancelled, the Club will send you a prorate refund of the unused portion of the membership fee, without any deduction, within 15 days of cancellation.

Q: Can I change my membership level at any time?

Absolutely! Contact Membership Services if you would like to change your membership program. Please allow three business days for processing. You will not be permitted to change your membership program at the time you place an emergency assistance call.
